Maketing and Communications Manager – Maternity Cover

We are currently recruiting for a Marketing and Communicaitons manager to cover a maternity role starting in January 2017.  There will be a two week handover with our current Marketing Manager in order to provide the person taking the role with adequate handover.  Please find below details about the role and feel free to contact Katie for any more information.

Purpose and Objectives

Promote SZUK to current and prospective donors and stakeholders. Head up all Shaare Zedek UK’s Marketing and Communications comprising all internal and external communications, marketing, advertising and publicity. Implement SZUK’s marketing strategy and coordinate all marketing campaigns. Increase SZUK’s profile regionally and nationally amongst the Jewish community and beyond. Ensure that SZUK’s marketing and communications are fit for purpose and in tune with today’s society, thinking and culture around philanthropic support for Israel and its medical sector

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement SZUK’s marketing strategy and plan of activity, according to the 2016-8 plan of activity
  • Design all SZUK marketing materials including appeals, newsletters and the calendar in line with agreed timescale, budget and brand (with the support of an external designer where necessary)
  • Coordinate distribution of marketing materials according to the marketing strategy
  • Manage the marketing budget ensuring that expenditure and income are realistically forecast, remain as per the budget and explain any significant variances;
  • To strategically lead our online presence including the SZUK website and social media, preparing a message calendar ensuring that it meets the organisation’s needs
  • Implement SZUK’s brand guidelines and act as brand guardian on all internal and external communications
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and fundraising team to develop ideas and share communications across SZUK
  • Liaise with press to maximise positive exposure for SZUK. Maintain SZUK’s testimonial and press book, monitoring press on a regular basis including weekly Jewish publications and any other relevant literature and following up action on any relevant articles
  • To report regularly to the Executive Director and Board on progress against objectives, including regular analysis reports on the performance of marketing campaigns
  • To attend staff meetings and other meetings as required, ensuring good co-operation with all other SZUK staff
  • To ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with SZUK’s organisational Policies and Procedures as issued
  • Any other daily duties which are relevant to the role
