2014 was another busy year at Shaare Zedek Medical Centre. Unprecedented growth in key departments has made us the fastest growing hospital in Jerusalem. We also faced several extraordinary challenges, all of which impacted on the hospital’s work, from treating victims of terror attacks to taking all the necessary extra  measures to maintain business as usual in the heavy snow. Thanks to your wonderful support and donations the hospital has been able to buy much needed medical equipment, open new departments and clinics all whilst treating a record number of patients.  13% of the babies born in Israel last year were born at Shaare Zedek, 22,061 to be precise, an unparalleled number in Israel and throughout the western world. If we put that in to perspective that’s the amount it would take to fill Headingly stadium in Leeds or Vicarage Road, Watford pretty impressive! 2015 is shaping up to be another great year as we will be celebrating the eagerly awaited completion and opening of The Next Generation Building. Your donations supporting the new departments have helped us to complete one of the most ambitious development projects in the hospital’s 113 year history. We hope you will come and visit us on your next trip to Israel to see the new building and the incredible work being done inside it Here’s to an exciting  year ahead!
