This is Leigh, father of three and keen sportsman who will be joining the thousands of runners on October 14th to take part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon.  Have a read of how he is preparing for this sporting challenge which he is taking part in on behalf of Shaare Zedek.  You can sponsor him here

Tell us why you are running for Shaare Zedek?

Both to support such a worthwhile charity and the opportunity to run the Royal parks half marathon, which I have wanted to do for a while

Have you ever taken part in a Half Marathon before?

How is training going or are you taking it all in your stride?

Training is going ok, although slightly challenged fitting in around the recent Yom Tovim

What are you most excited about / nervous about?

Nervous that I am pushing myself to a PB and also with the responsibility of representing the charity

Have you been given any advice or what are your top tips for pushing through the pain barrier?

Don't start off too fast!!

What is on your running playlist?

Anything from 60s onwards with a suitable beat to keep the pace going

Trusty trainers or new shoes for the occasion?

Definitely trusty running shoes - will treat myself to new shoes afterwards

What will be on the menu for your marathon breakfast or are you more looking forward to the celebratory meal afterwards?

Don't typically eat much before, so post-race celebratory meal definitely more appealing (especially with a beer)
