Meet Alain, our Treasurer, he is such a dedicated member of our team and this is the third year that he will be fundraising for us by riding in the Prudential Ride London. We are thrilled to have him on board.

We asked him a few questions about how he is preparing for his 100 mile challenge at the end of July, take a read.

Tell us why you riding for Shaare Zedek?

This is a wonderful charity and the hospital has been for many years and continues to be a giant in the world of medical research and disaster recovery worldwide!

Have you ever ridden 100 miles before?

Yes, twice before

How is training going?

Limited, but will no doubt peak over the next few weeks – I’m a last minute person as always!

What are you most excited about / nervous about?

I’m excited at the challenge (& I’m ignoring the nerves!)

Have you been given any advice or what are your top tips for pushing through the pain barrier?

I’m trying not to think about the pain!

What do you focus on to get you through such a long challenge?

The finishing line!

Trusty bike or new wheels for the occasion?

My trusted road bike!

What will be on the menu for breakfast on the morning of the ride or are you more looking forward to the celebratory drink / meal afterwards?

Breakfast (2 X Smoked salmon Bagels) – the finish (a whole bottle of Glenmorangie whisky! – no joke!)
