Shaare Zedek is the most centrally-located major acute care hospital in Jerusalem with over 30 inpatient departments and 70 outpatient units. It is an active and internationally-regarded research and teaching institution, deeply committed to furthering scientific progress.
The hospital has forged a world-class reputation in responding to the medical needs of the city’s varied inhabitants, thanks largely in part to the tremendous support and friendship from people all over the world.
Shaare Zedek provides its patients with innovative and sophisticated medical technology and continues to make major advances in areas such as medical imaging, genetics and surgery.
As an example, the hospital’s new CT scanner installed in 2011 is the first of its kind in Israel. It uses computerised tomography that significantly reduces the exposure to radiation and a scan of the entire heart can be performed in 250 milliseconds – shorter than half a heartbeat.
While staying focused on the demanding technological present, the hospital also prepares for the future through pioneering research from a dedicated and committed team of academics and researchers.
